Genevieve Vannest-Preschool Teacher/Director
Genevieve is a sports mom to three boys (Brandon (17), Colten (15) & Jason (13) ). Her and her husband (Eldon) moved their children to Mancos seven years ago; in love with the area, the school and the mountains! As a family they enjoy boating & camping in the summer and snowmobiling & skiing in the winter.
Genevieve started in the early childhood field by volunteering while her kids were in preschool over 10 years ago! Since then she's been a teacher, a director and an administrator in several centers around Colorado.
With the help support of her family and friends she decided to start The Nest Preschool to help her community with a big need to add quality childcare facility in the town of Mancos.

Shelby Caughey- Toddler Teacher/Assitant Director
Hi there! My name is Shelby Caughey and I am so excited to be on team Nest! A little background about me, I started babysitting at age 11 and have been in Early Education for 11 almost 12 years! It's so exciting because the learning is endless. My family has been a part of the Cortez education for over 50 years ranging from teachers to principals.
I have an 11 year old daughter named Kinley who is my entire world and a strong better half named Alec. As a family we enjoy traveling, trying new coffee houses together, fishing, relaxing and playing softball.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and making messes with your children:).

Terra Sapp-Preschool Teacher
Teaching is an absolute passion of mine. I have been teaching for over 25 years. I have an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, Colorado Early Childhood Credential 3.0 Level V, a Child Development Associate Degree (a National Credential) and I am Director Certified.
I was born in Cortez and grew up in Durango. My Great Grandfather was the first Mayor of Bayfield. I am the oldest and I have on sister. I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog Hashbrown, doing Cross Stitch, reading books, and taking photographs. I am the secretary for the Four States Junior Rodeo Association.
I am excited to get to know all of you and your children.

Cershtain- Toddler Assistant Teacher
Hello, my name is Cershtain and I’m the new toddler assistant here at the Nest Preschool. I’m so excited to be apart of such an amazing team and group of kids. A little background about myself is that I was born in Durango and raised in Cortez. I grew up with my mom being a preschool teacher and from a young age as far as I can remember I’ve just loved being around children and have wanted to pursue a career in a preschool, so this is my start to my dream.
I have a daughter on the way and am expecting in April I couldn’t be more excited! my partners name is Noah and he is the absolute best he is my best friend and better half. I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, being in nature and warm summer days!! I’m so excited for this new journey in life that has started for me here at the Nest and I look forward to getting to know each and every child.
